Empak and Emhart held the first Product Development & Mould Design Training of 2024, this time in Hrastnik1860 Glass Plant, located in Slovenia.
Hrastnik1860 is a plant with a very particular type of product mix, highly challenging BB bottle shapes and an imperative focus on Glass Quality!
It is also a Glass Plant which is quite dear to Empak, as it was the plant on which we made our first ever project for Bacardi, in what was a true "proof by fire...and glass"!
Concepts like glass properties, IS timing and even the impact of glass conditioning, gob temperature and delivery system in order to develop the building blocks for a successful mould design were widely discussed.
As part of our tradition in these trainings, we invite the attendees to bring real case scenarios to challenge Empak's PAKForming Simulator and this time was no exception.
Our deep thanks to the participants from Hrastnik and Paracin for placing several technical challenges during this training something that truly makes Product Development and Mould Design such an important aspect on the Supply Chain of Container Glass Industry.
And also for their great Hospitality!
Finally, the "glitch of the visit", we took advantange of another Lufthansa strike, which gave us the time to visit for the first time Lubjana, Slovenia's capital. A lovely romantic city, extremely well organized and clean and very interesting to walk around, specially on the historical part!

2024 has just begun and Empak is delighted to share this new news!
Hyderabad, a city situated in the heart of India known for its vibrant economy and burgeoning industrial landscape, provides a fertile ground to be an ideal location for launching our next office.
This will add and allow for better internal networking adding up to the locations of Lisbon, Portugal and Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
This location has a business-friendly environment with a steadily rising demand for glass containers, central to many container glass manufacturing plants and consumers in India. And being a major economic hub will enable Empak to reach a larger customer base. It has also a huge amount of beautiful historical landmark.
Hyderabad is also home to a skilled and diverse workforce, with a strong emphasis on education and technical training. Using that basis, we will further develop the skills of our Empak India's team, to be able to bridge the gap in between fillers and glass producers, from container glass conceptual design up until industrialization.
Having that in consideration, meet Empak's India first colleague: Mahesh Rao! Mahesh is a Mechanical engineer with experience in Design and manufacturing domains has already completed our extensive internal training program and co worked with global teams towards the container glass packaging requirements.
Nagesh Bezawada, CEO of Empak India, with his solid Engineering and management background and with the full network of Empak's Technical Team has been working for the past many years in creating the road map for Empak India.
As we in Empak believe that even global businesses need a local touch, we felt it was the right moment to have this new endeavor! Now, start challenging us!

Well...that is it, Folks! Another year goes by!
2023 provided Empak and ENNION a new set of challenges!
We grew our team (once again....that it required us to have in fact three Christmas dinners!), we had more trainings than ever before and curiously several of them combining already different deparments inside a glass plant.
It is with a huge sense of pride and joy that we see the interaction in between our Bulgarian and Portuguese offices reaching a level of maturity with several projects made already in close partnership. And the best part, the sense of Team Spirit building up! How do we see it...well.... projects are running without requiring a micromanagement approach.
But did you know what although trainings are the most visible part of what Empak and ENNION do and is present on our Media Blogs, in fact that is a marginal part of our mission?
In fact our core is to develop glass container concepts from scratch and make them reach industrialization, in a fast pace by combining our conceptual design Know-how with our field work technical experience.
That is why what we do best is to bridge the gap in between fillers and glass plants! And we will continue to work on that sense to provide even a more holistic approach to our clients in 2024!
In a more personal note, the year ends with a very sad news, our esteemed friend and former BA GLASS colleague, José Silva Santos, a person with whom we have worked very closely first when in BA's Industrial Projects team and in the last few years already within Empak's, has passed away. We will be keeping very fond memories of all the joy and hapiness Silva Santo's could bring into a room!
This shows that even with the successes in our working life, everything comes into perspective when we are faced with these moments. We need to have Quality Time to spend with our loved ones and create good memories for the Future. As one of our IS colleagues used to say..."ENJOY LIFE!"
