Empak and Emhart held another Product Development & Mould Design Training, this time in Shenyang, China, on SUOKUN Glass Plant.

SANJIN provided the Technical onsite support and translation services!

Concepts like glass properties, IS timing, mould cooling strategies and of course, parison design rules were widely discussedin order to develop the building blocks for a successful mould design.

As part of our tradition in these trainings, we invited the attendees to bring real case scenarios to challenge Empak's PAKForming Simulator and this time was no exception.

In fact, we found some of the most incredible Weight/Capacity ratios to explore!

The interaction was extremely fruitful and warm, even for Empak, as we saw approaches to the process, that we have never seen before!

Our deep thanks to the participants from SUOKUN for placing several technical challenges during this training, something that truly makes Product Development and Mould Design such an important aspect on the Supply Chain of Container Glass Industry.

Also a note for the great support of Sanjin's team as well for their incredible hospitality!

In particular to Mr. Paul Bu, (Sanjin's Deputy General Manager) for the translation during the training.

Hope to meet with you soon!

Empak was challenged by Carlsberg Global Quality Team to develop a training for Carlsberg glass auditors focusing on NNPB Process.

The location couldn't be better for such training: ParkCam, in Turkey!

Parkcam is in our opinion one of the best glass plants nowadays, from housekeeping, to data analysis and process control. Also demonstrates how people are really the most important variable inside a glass plant!

As part of the challenge for Carlsberg glass auditors, with nacionalities ranging from UK, Latvia, Ukraine, Russia, China, Greece, India, Poland, Azerbaijan and Denmark, Empak prepared a roadmap covering all the production process:

  • Batch & Furnaces

  • Forehearth operation

  • Mouldshop operation

  • Mould Design Basics

  • Correlating Mould Design, with IS Production settings

  • IS Production (From Timing, Automatic weight control, to mould rotation)

  • Inspection & Quality Control

  • Troubleshooting glass defects

Our deep thanks to Parkcam for hosting this wonderful training and their immense hospitality. It was wonderful to see old Friends once again!

And for Carlsberg Team and in particular @Olga Petukhova, for the huge vote of confidence in Empak's capacities and since the first moment to have shifted a "training" into a "Gathering" with a huge level of participation and engagement!

Sincerely,

All Empakglass Team!

Empak and Emhart held the first Product Development & Mould Design Training of 2024, this time in Hrastnik1860 Glass Plant, located in Slovenia.

Hrastnik1860 is a plant with a very particular type of product mix, highly challenging BB bottle shapes and an imperative focus on Glass Quality!

It is also a Glass Plant which is quite dear to Empak, as it was the plant on which we made our first ever project for Bacardi, in what was a true "proof by fire...and glass"!

Concepts like glass properties, IS timing and even the impact of glass conditioning, gob temperature and delivery system in order to develop the building blocks for a successful mould design were widely discussed.

As part of our tradition in these trainings, we invite the attendees to bring real case scenarios to challenge Empak's PAKForming Simulator and this time was no exception.

Our deep thanks to the participants from Hrastnik and Paracin for placing several technical challenges during this training something that truly makes Product Development and Mould Design such an important aspect on the Supply Chain of Container Glass Industry.

And also for their great Hospitality!

Finally, the "glitch of the visit", we took advantange of another Lufthansa strike, which gave us the time to visit for the first time Lubjana, Slovenia's capital. A lovely romantic city, extremely well organized and clean and very interesting to walk around, specially on the historical part!
