Empak Glass Conditioning, Batch & Furnaces Training with New Glass in Bulgaria

Empak held in Novi Prazar, Bulgaria a Glass Conditioning, Batch & Furnaces training with New Glass SA.

New glass EAD is a part of the Greek group Hellenic glass industry and dedicates to the production of Tableware.

Starting with the building blocks of batch formulation, corresponding glass properties and interlinking it with production setting, by using Empak's Batch & Furnace Simulator (PAKTOOLS) several operational simulations were performed including color changes analysis.

It was very exciting to see a combination of skilled technical staff in partnership with a new generation eager to learn from the basics of glass making until the new technological approaches.

It was also extremely important to be able to look into more detail onto the Press Machines, H28 machines with Stretching for StemWare which is something we don't look often in Glass Container production, but it does provide a huge amount of transferable ideas in between these two branches of glass making!

As a final note, and although Empak is mostly known for working in IS machines, we do have also the set of skills on tableware production!

So, please challenge us also on that!

Finally and as part of Empak's tradition, we try as much as possible to visit local historical and emblematic locations. This time was no exception! For a foreigner as myself, the best possible description of the Founders of the Bulgarian State Monument is like visiting Cybertron. For a Fan of Transformers was an absolutely delightful experience!

Empak Product Development Training with Zignago Vetro

Empak held in Lisbon, Portugal, a dedicated Product Development training for Zignago Vetro.

Zignago Vetro produces a wide range of container glass, from Blow and Blow process, to Wide mouth and some NNPB, as well as cosmetic and perfumery items.

It has glass plants located in Italy, France and Poland and even their own Company for Mould Making.

As part of our tradition in these trainings, we invite the attendees to bring real case scenarios to challenge Empak's PAKForming Simulator and this time was no exception.

Concepts like glass properties, IS timing and even the impact of glass conditioning, gob temperature and delivery system in order to develop the building blocks for a successful mould design were widely discussed.

Our deep thanks to Zignago and their continuos interested in attending our Product Development and Mould Design Trainings, year after year!

It was very exciting to see a new generation of Product Developers in Container Glass Industry, with ages below 30 with quite an enthusiam and already a quite good set of skills!

Empak/Emhart End to End Production Support

It isn't new that Empakglass has been working directly with Emhart in order to provide a "First Gob, First Bottle" approach, since 2012, by developing its product development and mould design.

During last week, Empakglass went one step forward with IS Production Engineer Yordan Paskulov which joined forces with Emhart Production team (IS production, quality, mechanical) on a combined project.

With the technical support of Dominique Vassaux and Alessandro Dogliotty from Emhart, forming simulations in different conditions and IS production settings were analyzed, namely:

• Gob temperature;

• Cavity Rate;

• Mould equipment temperature range;

• Orifice ring and delivery system;

• IS timing;

The result was a mould design equipment that was provided real results extremely in sync with the simulations.

We definitely can see from the smiles in those faces, that even in harsh conditions like we find in front of an IS machine, methodical approach and scientific method are the key factors for a successful project outcome!
