Empak/Emhart Mould Design Training in Gallo Glass, Modesto, USA

Empak and Emhart held another Product Development & Mould Design Training, this time in Gallo Glass, USA.

Concepts like glass properties, IS timing, FEA stress analysis and CFD mould cooling strategies vs reality were widely discussed.

Of course, parison design rules were the trigger to debate and to bring real case scenarios to challenge Empak's PAKForming Simulator and this time was no exception!

Here is our colleague Zlatin Lakerdov (Mould Design Department), from our office in Bulgaria showing the results we got that were spot on with what was running on the IS machine at the time!

Even a lot of IS production topics were discussed, even next to the IS machines. Here our colleague, Yordan Kamenov (IS Production) bringing the discussion to the shopfloor.

Our deep thanks to Gallo's Team for placing several technical challenges during this training, something that truly makes Product Development and Mould Design such an important aspect on the Supply Chain of Container Glass Industry.

The interaction and hospitality were amazing and the outcome was one of the funniest trainings we did this year!

And thank you for allowing us to have a tour on the plant as well as on the Mouldshop. Quite impressive!

Empak IS Production support in BIOMEDSKLO, UKRAINE

A couple of weeks ago, we posted that Empak had started a forehearth and IS machine in BIOMEDSKLO (www.biomedsklo.com.ua), a glass producer of jars, bottles and medical containers in Ukraine.

20 days after (6 days for forehearth and 14 days for IS production support), our colleagues Yordan Paskulov and Bogoia Chalamov have finalized this assignment with a huge success.

After a great startup on Line 2.4, which on the end of the last shift was packing already above 91%, our team, as usual, started to support other lines which weren't on the scope of the project, but something that we can't get away from!

From small mini-jams and the infamous LOF to gob loadings in BB gin bottles, our team went accross all lines to provide an extra set of eyes, ideas and experience.

Empak Team starts a SORG forehearth and Emhart IS machine in BIOMEDSKLO, UKRAINE

Well, one of the reasons why this year, Empak wasn't present in Glasstec 2024 was because we had several teams deployed accross the Globe, besides our offices in Portugal, Bulgaria and India, serving clients as far from the USA, Mexico, Dominican Republic, UK, Brazil, India and Ukraine.

And it is this last case that we wanted to show here today.

BIOMEDSKLO (www.biomedsklo.com.ua), a glass producer of jars, bottles and medical containers, located in Ukraine, invited Empakglass to support on two objectives:

• Heat-up and startup a SORG 24' STF/36 Forehearth

• Startup an EMHART IS 5'5 in DG

For that, with one week in advance the forehearth latest preparations were supervised, thermocouples placed and heat-up performed.

Then, it was the time to pass the "glass" to our IS team onsite, Yordan Paskulov and Bogoia Chalamov!

The startup went so well, that the IS machine was running 24h before the intial plan and packing 89%. Great Team work of both Empak and BIOMEDSKLO!

For now, our IS production team will remain onsite for two weeks, to support BIOMEDSKLO on the production of this new line, but as well on any of the other production lines.
